We run three fundraising appeals each year to raise funds for more than 400 charities.
One hundred per cent of all donations received are then distributed to these charities to provide care and support to our fellow Melburnians when they need it most. In 2008, we distributed $8 million to health and welfare charities throughout Melbourne and Victoria.
Our Heart of Melbourne Appeal is currently underway and is charged with helping Melbourne’s 15,000 homeless people. Tragically, one in every three is a child.
You can help. Every dollar donated to the Appeal goes to the more than 60 agencies in Melbourne who help our homeless. Every dollar goes to putting an end to the bitter cycle of homelessness. Every single dollar helps.
The Association of Civilian Widows recently made a donation of almost $1.1million to their Charitable Trust account. Since 1956 the Associations’ members have raised funds to support sole parents meet their children’s school expenses and other essential needs. The donation ensures their legacy will be kept alive, perpetuating both the Association’s name and its mission.
