In 2006 we introduced our Local Government Charitable Trust Scheme, offering local governments the opportunity to establish a charitable trust to benefit people living in their municipalities.
To encourage Victorian councils to streamline their giving, we offer a ‘matching’ initiative matching – dollar for dollar – the contributions made by each municipality, to a maximum of $100,000.
Seven councils have enrolled in the scheme by establishing community charitable trusts, these being Hume, Manningham, Kingston, Banyule, Mornington Peninsula, Frankston and Brimbank.
